Are boxer dogs any safer near children than other dogs?

I don’t have any pets of my own but my sister and her partner have said that they are safer than other dogs but I have read of cases of boxer dogs killing children so im not sure.
A good handful of dogs can be good with children if trained properly. Just make sure your children don’t get to rough with the boxer because the boxer will get rougher with the children and we don’t want any accidentals bites or knockdowns.

First, it depends how the boxer was brought up, it could have been abused. I haven’t heard of any dog killing children. Any type of dog can be mean, depending how it grew up. Some grew up normal, other grew up being abused. Get a puppy and bring it up well:)

I’m sure all of those cases involve a crappy lazy owner. Any dog is safe as long as you train it right and treat it with the respect you deserve. Also, don’t be a moron and leave your kids alone with the dog.

It is not the breed that is at fault. It is the owners. If the dog is socialized and trained, and is not being abused by anybody, then the chances are slim to nothing that the dog would harm anybody.

We have an 8 month old baby and because we knew 2 different families that had boxers and babies, we went ahead and got one. The dog is almost 4 months and is perfect around our son. i’m not sure if it’s true that they’re better around kids, but i happen to know that i trust them a little more than most dogs.
