A lot of people seriously don’t know what an American Pit Bull Terrier is. Watch this video and you will understand the breed allot more. Most people that claim to own these dogs really don’t. They own mixed bred dogs that are designed using the American Pit Bull Terrier. Allot of these crosses have American Bulldogs added in for size and strength and some even try adding Bullmastiffs! Both the American Bulldog and Bullmastiff are much larger and more powerful dogs then the American Pit Bull Terrier. That is one of the reasons they are used to produce the dog commonly seen today. Allot of these dogs end up in shelters. In reality, the true APBT is, in my opinion, one of the best dogs you can own, if you know how. Dogs are pack animals and you need to make sure you’re the pack-leader without ever hitting or abusing your animals. You also need to make sure that you can handle a dominant breed.
The true American Pit Bull Terrier is a small to medium sized dog that gets 15 – 21 inches at the shoulders and
22 – 65 pounds. Anything more then 70 pounds is obese and/or a mutt.
In this video you will learn:
*- What a true American Pit Bull Terrier is and how to know.
*- How to tell the difference between the true APBT and the Fakes.
*- How to know if the breeder is a legit, educated, responsible, reputable, respectable breeder, and also how to tell if they are a “Back-Yard” breeder.
*- You will also learn the “Pit Bull” isn’t a breed, its a term used to describe a certain group of dog breeds. “Pit Bull” isn’t a breed itself, though.
*- You will also see some of the breeds commonly confused as an APBT.
And many more ….
Enjoy the video and learn! Good Luck!

Apparently theres 48 breeds, what breeds are they?
I’m not sure. You would probably have a better chance of getting a good answer (unlike mine haha) in a game section or something. Good luck!

I have a two month old maltese puppy but we have to leave him in our garage for long periods of time. I am worried he is bored and will become neglected, so I wish to buy him a friend, preferably another dog. What dog breeds get along well with a maltese?
my parents refuse to allow the dogs inside, but we are planning to build them a small "dog" home.
with socialization any dog can get along. although I would go with a breed that is around the same size just to be on the safe side. I hope your garage is heated though so your dog is not cold, if you get two dogs will they be aloud to stay in the house? just make sure that your dogs are well taken care of and can’t get into anything please(in a garage they can get into ALOT)
EDIT: Does your dog EVER come in the house? If not, than you really shouldn’t get another dog, you should find your little dog a home were he can come in and have human contact, a Maltese is a breed that likes to be around humans, they are not a solitary breed, no dog is that is why they live in packs. Please do do the right thing by your dog, at two months your dog needs socialization not isolation.

I really want to be able to see dog breeds compared with each other(in size). Does anyone know of something(not a website, although it would still be helpful)like a book, or wall chart?
I do not mean a normal dog book with information about dog breeds, I already have three of those. I want some way of comparing the size of different breeds, both height and structure. Thanks to all!
I saw one of these years ago, but I’m not finding it looking on Amazon or Google. It was in a Vet’s office, so you might ask your Vet.
OK better job on Google. Doesn’t have all the breeds but the 150 or so most popular

I have two cats and two rabbits and want to get a dog. It’s not so much the cats I am worried about, but the rabbits. Does anyone have any suggestions or dog breeds that would be okay/be able to be trained?
Thanks a lot!
Oh and also no one is home during the weekdays from about 9-4. Any advice on this?
Your rabbits should be somewhere protected like in a cage or a hutch or some enclosed area if youplan on having a dog.
It really depends. I have a six year old labrador and it took years to train it but he totally ignores the rabbits and doesn’t even try to get close to the cages. Maybe he is just old..
But, any kind of dog I think would probably react to rabbits sometime or another since for them it’s like a prey…you should be careful since it could hurt your rabbits, or even your cats.
I got my dog after I had my cats and they would try to scratch at him and go wild when he was a puppy until they got used to him, so you also have to consider that your cats may not be accostumed to dogs and may attack it.

I know dogs differ from dog to dog but are there any breeds to have been known to be easy to train?
Labs
Border Collies
Golden Retrievers
Australian Shepards
Standard Poodle
German Shepards
Like you said, it does differ from dog to dog. I’ve met smart chihuahuas and unintelligent labs, so it really depends.

Smart dogs, such as a German Shepherd or a Maltese, are easy to train, but most breeds can be trained with patience. Find out which dog breeds are easy to train in this free video on dog training from a professional dog trainer.

What are dog breeds that have similar coloring to a Bernese Mountain Dog, but are smaller and have less fur?
Greater Swiss Mountain Dog, Appenzell Mountain Dog, and Entlebucher Mountain Dog.
They are all related to the Bernese Mountain Dog, but have shorter fur.
"Entlebuch Mountain Dog
Also known as Entlebucher or Entlebuch Mountain Dog, this breed is the smallest and rarest of the four Sennenhund breeds. It originated in Entlebuch a valley in the district of the Cantons Lucerne and Berne, Switserland."

My mom and I were talking about our dog, which a miniature pincher, and she told me that they are made up of 5 different dog breeds. Is this true? If so, what dog breeds is it mixed with?
The Miniature Pinscher is a purebreed, so it is not a mix of breeds. When it was being developed in the 1800s, however, various terriers, Dachshunds, German Pinschers and various other breeds were used.
