INTERACT WITH T.M. WRIGHT

I have seen them and I think, THEY, Have seen Me. I have tried everything to blend in, to disappear, to fade away! But THEY are not having it and THEY get their way...Every-time. THEY live out in the open, Right in-front of everyone and no one seems to see THEM. Death is not a way out because, well, Death is their thing, isn't it, Their trade, THEIR way of life, Funny isn't it, Death as a way of life. Here THEY come I think They mean to do itm this time, to end things between us-ME.

Thank you for the feedback! I didn't realize that the original publishers had fallen through. I hope we get a bite from one of your newer prospects soon. It promises to be an outstanding collection, and I'm both excited and honored to have been accepted as a contributor.

Mike, I haven't been able to access this site for some time--the server's been revamping it. Holy Horrors is currently waiting--as it has been for some time--for a publisher, after the first couple of publishers who'd expressed much interest fell through. There's a publisher in the states still interested, and one in Germany. My many apologies for the long delay in reporting: I'll have a longer message posted at Matt's site in the next couple of weeks. Thanks very much for your inhuman patience on this, Mike. T.M.

Hello, Mr. Wright. I'm a contributor to the Holy Horrors anthology with some concerns about the status of the anthology. I check Matt's blog almost daily, but there have been no related posts since the TOC release, last September (?). Last I heard, you and Matt were researching publishers. Have you settled on a publisher yet? If so, is there a projected date for contributor payment and/or release? Sorry, but I'm sitting on queries for my first novel and my HWA Active status is dependent upon this sale. Haven't mailed any queries yet. I'd really like to have Active status as an accolade. Getting a little nervous.

Just stopping by to repeat my top recommendations -- now that I know HTML works here.

1. Goodlow's Ghosts
2. Sleepeasy
3. The Devouring (written as Armstrong)
4. Boundaries
5. The Woman Next Door.

**I will keep liking them as long as it will not have 'creature from the dept of hell with 1000's of teeth and talons summoned by some cult worshipping deities! - now a days cartoon channels have stuff like this!** Heh-heh. Actually that sounds pretty good to me. :) (I might not want to read a NOVEL like that, but a short story or movie could actually be pretty cool, I think.) /

Toianna, look for GOODLOW'S GHOSTS and THE WOMAN NEXT DOOR.

Jan 30, 2008 Dear Mr Wright, I picked up "Laughing Man" because of my hero Stephen King's endorsement of you, and WOW! He is so right on! Oh my gosh! A new writer to enjoy! Yes!!!! Thank you. There is nothing like losing myself in a great book! Also,I am establishing myself as a freelance writer and want to know whether or not I could email you some interview questions so I can write an article about you and your writing. Please let me know at: penttipoika7@hotmail.com Toianna W.

By the way, Scott, here's the URL for Bradford House's edition of "Strange Seed." http://www.bradfordhousepublishing.com/StrangeSeed.htm

Actually thirty years since its publication, Scott, though I know what you're saying--25 years since you read the novel. The new hardcover from Bradford House (E-Twisted) has some gorgeous art, and an introduction by Jack Ketchum. It's an "author's preferred edition," meaning, of course, that I had yet another editorial whack at it (my fourth over the years as it saw various printings). I have a copy of the leather-bound ($250.00) edition, of course, but Bradford never supplied the slipcase, LOL. I hope you enjoy the new edition, Scott, and thanks very, very much. Terry

Good news about Bone Soup! That'll be on my short list of must haves for 2008. I'll be ordering the limited edition of Strange Seed come payday this friday. 250 is a bit out of my price range right now, but 40-50 is very doable. I don't know where the time goes, it seems like only yesterday I first read Strange Seed, not the 25 years it's been!

Hi Scott, Thanks for writing. I emailed Rich Chizmar a couple of days ago about Bone Soup and he got back to me very quickly to say it was in "the next batch" of releases, and will be published "sooner rather than later" this year. So that's good news. Actually, there was a limited, author's preferred edition of "Strange Seed" published by E-Twisted publishing in 2005: it's a beautiful book, but not cheap (two states: $40.00 and $250.00). Yes, it was published thirty years ago this year; my first book, non-fiction (The Intellient Man's Guide to Flying Saucers) was published 40 years ago this year. T.M.

Hi TM, Raingod here, just wondering if there's any news on Bone Soup and if there are any plans for a 30th anniversary edition of Strange Seed. If I'm correct that came out in 1978, right?

Hi, Andy, Great to hear from you, and I think I know where you're coming from when you say you've "fallen out of love with what is generally thought of as 'horror fiction.'" (I think I have that quote correct--didn't check.) "Blue Canoe" is coming out from PS Publications early next year--I'll see if I can get you a copy somehow (send me your address--editortm@yahoo.com), and, of course, CD will certainly someday publish "Bone Soup"--my first collectioh. Hi TM, it has been a while, I hope all is well with you. Glad to see you have a proper web presence these days. I trust you remember well the mad days of Horrornet and Masters of Terror! Still greatly enjoying your work, even though I have fallen out of love with what is generally termed 'horror fiction'. I look forward to sourcing some of your more recent titles.

Roz, It may not have been obvious, but "Laughing Man" is the fifth in my "Children of Earth" series which began with my first novel, "Strange Seed" (see my bibliography), and continued with "Nursery Tale," "The Children of the Island," and "The People of the Dark." (see biblio) Was there something going on between Erthmun and his partner: I'm not sure. Possibly. Thanks for asking! T.M.

Have you ever thought of making a sequel to the "Laughing Man"? I found the main character to be intriguing but never quite understood why the bizzarre murders were occurring in the book; and was there something going on between the detective and his partner or was that left to the reader's imagination?

Hi Sue, Good to hear from you. It's been quite a while. Well, did you know about "I am the Bird," from about a year ago, and the new "Author's Preferred Edition" of "A Manhattan Ghost Story," from Telos, also about a year ago. Later this year, my first collection (including a novel, short fiction, poetry and art), "Bone Soup," will be appearing from Cemetery Dance; next year, April, my new (and best) novel, "Blue Canoe," will be appearing in hardcover from PS Publications, UK. Really good to hear from you. Terry

Thanks very much, Dave. You can buy some of my later books--novellas, a few novels--at shocklines.com, but be quick because the place is closing down in the next couple of months. And, of course, Amazon has quite a few of them, as does Barnes and Noble, Alibris, and many other online bookstores. They can also be ordered from the chain stores. Very happy you enjoy what I write. Elvezio, Thank you very much for that wonderful review. I'm happy COLD HOUSE struck you the way it did. I'd include it as one of my better novels: I'll see what I can do about getting "Strange Seed" into Italian (the link you give is for the latest hardcover version: the novel was first published, in hc, in 1978). Hi there, i'm from Italy and i just read your novel Cold House which is brilliant, i enjoyed it very much. I wrote something about it, it is already online on mi site (http://mal-pertuis.blogspot.com/2007/06/cold-house.html) and will go on a magazine (called Necro, we have made contact with writers like Piccirilli, Ketchum, Lebbon and the like, thwy all agreed to give us a short story, we are tying to make an horror comeback here in Italy, wich is very difficult indeed...) i think at the end of August. Wish that here in Italy we will have the chance, sooner or alter, to read Strange Seed... Keep writing awesome story like Cold House! Best wishes

Hi Rawland, My Mom is doing well--living in Honeoye, NY, and spending her winters in Georgia. She's due back from Georgia in a couple of weeks, as a matter of fact. I'm doing well--another book due out this year, an anthology of my long fiction (a novel), short fiction, poetry and art entitled "Bone Soup," being published by Cemetery Dance Publications. T.M.

That's hard to say, Animal Hour. I'm working on it, but it may not make it to publication for quite a while--publisher problems, writing problems. It's titled "Angry Irene Roberts," and anagram fans will appreciate that title (also, anagrams figure prominently in the plot). And yes, good "riddence" to Pacione. May he stay in his room forever. Thanks, Stefan, for your comments. My poetry appears in a couple of out-of-print chapbooks, copies of which I no longer own, unfortunately. Some of my poetry also appears in Tom Piccirilli's anthology, "The Devil's Wine," and will appear in my Cemetery DAnce anthology, "Bone Soup," early next year.

Hello, Mr. Wright. I've read a few of your books and you remind me somewhat of Peter Straub, which I intend to be a compliment. I like your books and will continue seeking more out to read. I've read that you write poetry. Is any of it published and in print? If so, where may I purchase some of it? I would also buy out-of-print used publications. Anyway, please keep writing and entertaining. I just received a library copy of "The Intelligent Man's Guide to UFOs" that I'm going to go read now. --Stefan
