Are maltese dogs suitable for india?

im in india.. i just came to know about maltese dogs.. i’ve become a great fan of them and i wanna have one for myself. but..is the climatic condition in india suitable for maltese? will they be fine here in tamilnadu? and where can i get maltese in tamilnadu?
